Master Plan Ministries is a non-denominational Christian ministry based in Durango, CO.  It was founded by Russ and Linda Akins in 1985, and has been doing the work of evangelism and discipleship and leadership development with thousands of college students since then.  You can learn more about Master PLan Ministries at MasterPlanMinistries.net

Master Plan Ministries is based on biblical principles, and provides the necessary tools and resources to meet many of the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical needs of the individual. The results are an increasing flow of committed, trained, and fruitful Christians that will impact the world by ministering to the needs of the whole person in the name of Jesus Christ.

The Discipleship Legacy Project will provide you with a discipleship community where you will be encouraged to grow in your faith in the Rocky Mountains.  The training will include many aspects of servant leadership development, skills to help fulfill the great commission, and training in interpersonal development.  You'll experience a lot of outdoor adventures and grow in your work ethic as well as earn some money to take home at the end of the summer.

When you come to the Discipleship Legacy Project, Master Plan staff will be available on site full time. Also you'll be learning with other students from across the region.

Housing
Students will have their own bed and will likely have one or more roommates at the project. There will be hot showers and a full kitchen that will be used by the summer staff and students.

Some of the training will include:

  • Public speaking
  • Bible teaching
  • Growing in compassion toward the lost and sharing the message of the Gospel with them
  • Learning how to disciple others

Outdoor Activities will include:
  • Cliff rappelling, hiking, camping, and more.

There will be a limited amount of internet available at the ranch, and no cell service. We do have a land line. This can be a positive element of the project as many people are finding that they are more dependant on their devices that they wish they were.
